The Limousin and the Périgord Vert - Our Region
For several years now, we have been living and working with enormous pleasure in the Limousin, one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of rural France. This region offers hilly landscapes with stunning views. There are beautiful green valleys bordered by woods, large rivers such as the Vézère, sparkling streams and brooks and peaceful lakes. Our area is well known for its charming architecture and cultural heritage. Here you can discover lovely medieval towns, enchanting little hamlets and traditional rural properties. Everything invites you to explore the country with its dreamy villages, fairy-like castles and wonderful healthy environment. The climate is generally mild, with warm sunny summers, mild winters, and very pleasant mid-seasons. An endless number of activities are at hand to cater for all tastes: hiking, fishing, swimming, cycling, horse riding, climbing, water skiing, canoeing, nature watching, golf, and many others. Winter sports can be practised at the resorts of the Massif Central, only a stone’s throw away. Needless to say, the French country cooking is not to be missed, together with its famous wines. A real feast awaits any visitor who appreciates excellent cuisine. Wherever you may find yourself in this region, there will always be something to discover and enjoy. Add to all of this a magnificent natural environment and a quality of life rarely found these days. This part of France has everything for everybody. Easy to understand why we do not ever want to leave!
